The winners were honoured for their achievements at a special event held on December 27 at KNRTU-KAI Concert Hall.
The awards were presented in 15 categories.
To recognize the outstanding achievements made by international students, three students were nominated in the International Student of the Year category:
- Alisher Samadov, a fourth year Communication Technology and Systems student, president of International Student Association of 2017, who is a top athlete, dancer and activist.
- And finally, Alfredo Ndremaninazafy who became 2017 International Student of the Year. Alfredo is a forth year Communication Technology and Systems student, president of International Student Association of 2016. He launched a number of projects aimed at social and cultural adaptation of international students, contributed greatly to the success of many subdivisions of our University, such as GRIAT, Office of International Affairs, Student Sports Club. He also represented our University at many regional and national events and competitions.
