Director of Institute of Engineering Economics and Entrepreneurship shares her student life memories

Svetlana Yudina graduated from the Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design in 1992. Nowadays she is the head of the Institute of Engineering Economics and Entrepreneurship.

Svetlana Yudina shares her youth-memories:

“Here is what I remember most from my student years:

First of all, the university’s dormitory welcomed us, freshmen, with rooms where there weren’t any beddings, pillows and even mattress. However, the senior students helped us to settle in a new place, and eventually everything was sorted out.

Second of all, we were the first economics students who started mastering the “Marketing” discipline. And this was in the pre-Internet era! We had no textbooks, no lecture notes. Luckily, our teachers were not equipped with educational materials either…

Thirdly, a student cafeteria with very limited meal range - only green peas with mayonnaise.

Last but not the least, my first ever rock concert which I attended with my friends.

My advice for the future generation: Do not try to remember everything, try to understand!
